Sony Energy Corporation-Japan

The roofs of a 435,000 square foot manufacturing facility and office were coated with Super Therm®. The cost was paid back in energy savings in only 13 months.

Florida Energy Office- United States

Application of Super Therm® on a residential roof indicated the solar heat gain was reduced by 20-30% in February in the State of Florida. Estimated return on investment was 2.2 years. Study performed by Florida Energy Specialists.

Performance in Japan

  • Mitsubishi -14 degrees C reduction in room temperature
  • Sony - Coated roof and walls of a test facility at their factory. KW usage dropped 78% over the summer months from previous year to coated year. Later ROI showed to be 13 months on large facilities building (430,000 sq ft.).
  • Subaru - 24 degrees C reduction in roof surface temperature
  • Sumitomo Eton Nova Co. - Temperature underneath the insulated roof was reduced by an average of 12 degrees C over one month
  • Hitachi Electric- 35 degrees C (63 degrees F) reduction in temperature under the roof
  • Sekisui- 12 degrees C (22 degrees F) reduction in room temperature

  • YKK Zippers – 5 degrees C reduction in room temperature in factory area, office area eliminated need for 3 out of 7 A/C units
  • Architectural review on 10-year aged roof and found no loss of reflectivity
  • 15-year test of roof and found it was still 76% of reflectivity when new
